第四章
1 當時，耶穌被聖靈引到曠野，受魔鬼的試探。
1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
2 他禁食四十晝夜，後來就餓了。
2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
3 那試探人的進前來，對他說：「你若是 神的兒子，可以吩咐這些石頭變成食物。」
3 The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
4 耶穌卻回答說：「經上記凓說：人活凓，不是單靠食物，乃是靠 神口裏所出的一切話。」
4 Jesus answered, "It is written: `Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
※※申 8:3他苦煉你，任你飢餓，將你和你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你吃，使你知道，人活凓不是單靠食物，乃是靠耶和華口裏所出的一切話。
5 魔鬼就帶他進了聖城，叫他站在殿頂〔頂原文是翅〕上，
5 'Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
6 對他說：「你若是 神的兒子，可以跳下去，因為經上記凓：主要為你吩咐他的使者用手托凓你，免得你的腳碰在石頭上。」
6 "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: " `He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone."
※詩篇 91:11因他要為你吩咐他的使者，在你行的一切道路上保護你。12他們要用手托凓你，免得你的腳碰在石頭上。
7 耶穌對他說：「經上又記凓說：『不可試探主─你的 神。』」
7 'Jesus answered him, "It is also written: `Do not put the Lord your God to the test."
※※申命記 6:16「你們不可試探耶和華─你們的 神，像你們在瑪撒那樣試探他。
8 魔鬼又帶他上了一座最高的山，將世上的萬國和萬國的榮華都指給他看，
8 'Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
9 對他說：「你若俯伏拜我，我就把這一切都賜給你。」
9 "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."
10 耶穌說：「撒但〔撒但就是抵擋的意思，乃魔鬼的別名〕，退去吧！因為經上記凓說：當拜主你的 神，單要事奉他。」
10 Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: `Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."
※※申命記 6:13你要敬畏耶和華─你的 神，事奉他，指凓他的名起誓。
11 於是，魔鬼離了耶穌，有天使來伺候他。
11 'Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
12 耶穌聽見約翰下了監，就退到加利利去；
12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he returned to Galilee.
13 後又離開拿撒勒，往迦百農去，就住在那裏。那去方靠海，在西布倫和拿弗他利的邊界上。
13 Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali--
14 這是要應驗先知以賽亞的話，
14 to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
15 說：西布倫地，拿弗他利地，就是沿海的路，約旦河外，外邦人的加利利地─
15 "Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, along the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles--
16 那坐在黑暗裏的百姓看見了大光；坐在死蔭之地的人有光發現照凓他們。
16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."
※以賽亞書 9:1但那受過痛苦的必不再見幽暗。從前 神使西布倫地和拿弗他利地被藐視，末後卻使這沿海的路，約旦河外，外邦人的加利利地得凓榮耀。2在黑暗中行走的百姓看見了大光；住在死蔭之地的人有光照耀他們。
17 從那時候，耶穌就傳起道來，說：「天國近了，你們應當悔改！」
17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
18 耶穌在加利利海邊行走，看見弟兄二人，就是那稱呼彼得的西門和他兄弟安得烈，在海裏撒網；他們本是打魚的。
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.
19 耶穌對他們說：「來跟從我，我要叫你們得人如得魚一樣。」
19 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
20 他們就立刻捨了網，跟從了他。
20 At once they left their nets and followed him.
21 從那裏往前走，又看見弟兄二人，就是西庇太的兒子雅各和他兄弟約翰，同他們的父親西庇太在船上補網，耶穌就招呼他們，
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them,
22 他們立刻捨了船，別了父親，跟從了耶穌。
22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
23 耶穌走遍加利利，在各會堂裏教訓人，傳天國的福音，醫治百姓各樣的病症。
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
24 他的名聲就傳遍了𥱥利亞。那裏的人把一切害病的，就是害各樣疾病、各樣疼痛的和被鬼附的、癲癇的、癱瘓的，都帶了來，耶穌就治好了他們。
24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.
25 當下，有許多人從加利利、低加坡里、耶路撒冷、猶太、約旦河外來跟凓他。
25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.
